Art

There is art everywhere in Vuores: on facades, in yards and parks, on bridges, on traffic routes and at squares.

In the led-light artwork on the bridge in Vuores, the colours vary according to the season, tall trees have been printed onto the glass of a staircase, and the donated skis form an extraordinary wall. The Vuores community centre is decorated by graphic concrete, and the Shoppailijat work of art welcomes you to the Klaava shopping centre.

Art is a natural part of the residents’ everyday life and it significantly improves the quality of the built environment.

At the planning phase, the builders choose a professional visual artist who creates a work of art that suits to the building or to its yard. The City of Tampere buys art to be located in public places, on bridges and at squares. The art programme of Vuores defines the framework for connecting art to the planning and construction of the area.
